A relatively new process, Direct-To-Garment (DTG) printing is the perfect solution for a growing number of print opportunities:
- One-off samples for promotion, pitching or client meetings
- Small volume jobs (on certain garments, digital printing can be quicker and more cost effective on anything up to 50 items).
- Multicoloured logos, CMYK or photographic designs that need to be produced in small quantities.

How Digital Printing Works
DTG printers are effectively large versions of a typical desktop inkjet printer but instead of taking paper, they can take t-shirts, or other garments as the print media and use special inks. These contain a ‘fusing agent’, so when the design has been printed and cured, the inks permanently adhere to the fibres of the fabric. This creates a high quality, vibrant coloured print that is extremely durable and long lasting. So, if you are worried about instant fading of your design, fear no more, as the inks have been developed and vigorously tested to prevent such problems occurring.
Quality & Durability
Despite the excellent nature of the final print, DTG prints will inevitably suffer from fatigue quicker than screen printed garments - this is worth bearing in mind depending on the purpose of use. Our printed garments are all tested to be fully washed and colour fast to 40ºC in all popular washing products. We recommend washing and ironing printed garments inside out to extend the life of the print.

Customers sending in their own garments are liable for the cost of sending these in. We are not liable for the cost of any customers own garment that does not print to the customers satisfaction - we rigourously test all of our own garments to ensure that they print correctly.

Suitable Garments
IN THEORY, most garments should be printable via the DTG print method. However, as we have found, in reality, some garments are much more suitable than others and provide much better results. Artwork Requirements
DTG printing does not require vector based artwork and so can we can use most file formats e.g. jpgs, .eps, .pdf, .ai, .png etc. The quality of the final print is directly related to the quality of the image supplied, so the higher the quality of the original image, the better the print result will be. We always recommend artwork produced at least 300dpi for best results.
